Aside from the occasional splash of Listerine, nothing feels quite as fresh as spring. Its dewy mornings that lazily simmer into mild afternoons serve as welcome reminders of the summer to come. But spring’s best quality (barring cherry blossoms and frozen yogurt) is the outerwear it necessitates. Realizing that you can now wear an open jacket in earnest isn’t just refreshing, it also means that the constant barrage of overcoats and parkas can finally be bagged, dry-cleaned and relegated to a closet. And as for replacements? I’ll start with Hogan’s preppy bomber – which sees grey jersey paired with arctic-white leather. The vibe is understated – a hallmark of anything truly luxe – which invariably means I’m a fan (the supple leather got me). And in the spirit of keeping things fresh, I combined the bomber with a pastel button-down, Acne’s fitted wool and mohair trousers and a pair of suede sneakers by Tommy Hilfiger.
