I’m starting to think my affair with Los Angeles has potential at blossoming into something serious. Perhaps it’s the predictable weather, or maybe it’s because I don’t mind driving everywhere… Point being, I always have a good time in LA.
My recent trip was spent working (which included commutes down Crescent Drive after taking snaps at the Beverly Hills Hotel), plus fueling-up at Verve on Melrose and sampling Chef Coscarelli’s infamous vegan treats at By Chloe in Silver Lake. Friday afternoon included a tour of Hulu before a quick trip to Venice, which inevitably resulted in stops at Aesop and Miansai, but only after a bite at Greenleaf’s (all on Abbot Kinney). Aside from my usual spots, the highlight of this trip was a casual afternoon BBQ I helped host with friends on their rooftop in DTLA.
Light and crisp was definitely the theme for our spread, which included treats like homemade guacamole, fresh fruit, plus kale and mango salad – all of which paired perfectly with a bucket of ice-cold Heineken Light. Beyond refreshing and at only 99 calories, Heineken Light is specially brewed using all-natural ingredients, without filler grains, coloring or preservatives, making it the perfect summer beer for my health-conscience Californian amigos! A spin on The Ace rooftop’s dancefloor was followed by a pit stop at Acne Studios, all before my flight back to NY (where my appreciation of Heineken Light continued during a brief staycation at the New York Edition last weekend).
