When Owen Paul sang, “You’re My Favorite Waste of Time“, he probably was referencing Instagram. Let’s face it, everyone’s favorite app is essentially a black hole of productivity (I’ve mentioned this before). Don’t get me wrong – slipping down the rabbit hole can be fun, but when you’re on a mission and pinched for time, let’s just say a little direction goes a long way. So, in the spirit of efficiency, I’ve scoured my instafeed for six grooming-centric accounts you’ll actually be interested in following. If you must be sucked into a virtual void why not enjoy the ride? Let’s begin:
1.) @BaxterOfCa: Founded in 1965, Baxter of California is one of the first grooming lines dedicated exclusively to men (which is huge). Aside from that, their scented candles are incredible – something we all should appreciate. Combining the best of science and nature, Baxter of California produces products of exceptional quality that are continually endorsed by grooming experts. Follow for quick tips on shaving, exclusive promotions and several behind-the-scenes shots from inside the Los Angeles-based brand. Two Words: groomed heritage.
2.) @BeardBuddy: With the motto, “Save your beard from being weird”, it’s pretty obvious what Beard Buddy‘s main goal is. Established in 2011, founders Nathan and Gareth aim to create products that are designed specifically for the bearded men with a sense of humor and panache. Follow for product guides and a slew of inspirational pictures – including some excellent #throwbacks of a bearded Mick Jagger and Sylvester Stallone. Two Words: bashfully brilliant.
3.) @BrooklynGrooming: Using natural and organic vegetable butters, beeswax, herbs and essential oils, Brooklyn Grooming offers real quality. Aside from their classic amber packaging and apothecary-styled aesthetic, the brand’s instafeed is always a good time. 4.) @LaMerOfficial: The undisputed crown jewel in skincare has an instagram feed which will not disappoint. Featuring brand takeovers by Elin Kling and regrams of products carefully placed around the world, La Mer’s official account offers a healthy dose of escapism. Follow to infuse your instafeed with beautiful product shots and behind-the-scenes moments from some of the most coveted locations and bathrooms on the planet. Two Words: très luxe.
5.) @AesopSkincare: If you’re an Aesop fan (which I clearly am) then this is one account you’ll really enjoy. Focusing less on individual products and more on overall aesthetic, Aesop’s account is a must-follow for anyone remotely interested in art, architecture and literature. Follow for marvelously minimal glimpses from inside Aesop’s renowned retail spaces which, like the brand, convey a true sense of tranquility. Two Words: so zen.
6.) @TheMotley: If you love the beach, anything California-related and serious ‘mahalo‘ vibes, you’d probably do well to follow The Motley. Not only do their products offer exceptional results, their instafeed is vibrant, fresh and carefully curated. Two Words: California dreaming.
