The holidays are here, which means it’s time to start thinking about seasonal dressing (and what that actually does to your wardrobe). I’m a big fan of keeping things sleek, opting for statement coats worn open on top of warm, typically neutral layers. For the holiday season I partnered with Nordstrom to put together my favorite Topman look, which I’ve deconstructed and explained, below.
In terms of specific layers, I’ve always loved a good shearling and the bold statement it makes. When browsing online I predictably fell for this grey Topman aviator coat, available exclusively at Nordstrom. The coat is classic in cut, and accentuates my shoulders which somehow make me consciously want to improve my posture. I love the tone and contrast the collar creates, plus the mix of textures reads cozy and luxurious. I’m prone to collecting essentials, and a black crew sweatshirt is definitely a big part of my seasonal rotation. I love this classic crew sweater, mostly for its boxiness and high collar, which adds a slight formal twist.
