A few years ago, I was skimming through some Neil Barrett vests at Bologna’s Folli Follie when I fell in love. Long story short, since that day Lanvin‘s iconic and now classic low-top toe-capped sneakers have been coveted. Of course I’d heard of and saw them everywhere (mainly on Pharrell Williams and numerous Parisian’s feet), but it wasn’t until recently that I finally vowed to trying them on. (Side Note: when you try-on anything Lanvin, you actually are making a commitment to it and yourself.)
While aubergine, emerald and black were all interesting choices, I gravitated towards this sky blue pair. The grey patent toe cap manages to ground everything, and (as expected) the fit was exceptional. The shoes actually suited my outfit better than the ones I came in with – which is HUGE. But restraint and fear of scuffing them has meant I am yet to take them on their inaugural stroll. And l’ll savor the moment – remember, these are works of art.
